The junior varsity football team played a very intense game on Monday, September 19, against the West Marshall Trojans. The Braves came out victorious with a final score of 16-14.
The game started out with a bang when Mikey Lyons received the 80-yard opening kickoff and scored a touchdown. Mitch Gibson then completed a two point conversion.
Later on in the fourth quarter, Gibson completed a 3-yard touchdown run. Seth Fahlenkamp scored a two-point conversion.
A few big plays were Gibson’s 45-yard run and West Marshall fumbles recovered by Lyons and Bryan Gregson.
The defense created a turnover at the end of the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Coach Keith Sietstra said, “Our defense did a great job to create turnovers and held strong the entire night. It was great to see these guys respond after playing a poor game last week .”
